The challenge of merely being (2018)
transfer onto found metal and found paper, on gesso board

Having spent years with the software, digital imaging as a stand-alone media held few surprises. I shifted to making cut-and-paste collages and while those were drying, I plowed through my photo files and printed transfer films. My small workspace caused piles of collages to become covered with piles of unruly floppy films. I finally accepted that prompt from the universe and realized I should try transferring onto those collages. So, I began transferring digital images onto analog media. The unknowns inherent in the collage/transfer processes were a welcome challenge.

My recent work continues working in that manner, with nature and the rural landscape as subject matter.
