The challenging idea in my three-dimensional works was to use existing objects – in this case salvaged books – to talk about various issues. The works focus on different ideas that range from concern about clean water to the importance of community libraries. The use of different mediums to describe ideas/concepts is not new, but an effective means to draw attention to these important issues. These works ask the viewer to explore, reflect and maybe smile while in the process of investigation.
