In my artwork, I am seeking to find the simple essence of a thought, observation, landscape or detail, especially those that pertain to our natural environment.
My abstract art is characterized by the more narrow and academic definition of abstraction as a “means to separate or withdraw something from something else . . . where forms have been simplified or schematized.” (Tate Museum)

Abstraction, in some ways, is my attempt to simplify the world I see around me and to narrow the scope to what I feel is most essential, basic and necessary.
My abstract textile art reduces core elements into basic shapes and organic forms. Hand dyed colors and distinct edges create a graphic quality, while added stitching enhances the tactile nature of the fabric.
