ABOUT THE ARTIST
Lineadeluz is a cultural alchemist, creating interventions from the social performance of sharing knowledge. Lineadeluz intentions the expression of their identity through clothing and makeup, sharing it from the selfie as a political tool of resistance in digital spheres. Their practices generate from anarchist pedagogy, the queer and the transglitchfeminist to transmute discomfort, doubts and dreams into materialities that catalyze a sense of affirmation in people.
They have participated in La Rebelión Textil, an artistic and electronic laboratory as part of the Voz Pública project, a participatory art work that seeks to amplify the protest against gender violence in the urban context of Latin America. Since 2020 they have been part of Costurero Electronico, where artistic and tactical devices are created that link textiles and electronics from a feminist perspective. They are a recipient of the first generation of grants in 2021 for the Sevens Genesis Grant, their piece being part of an exhibition reserved for the first NFT by a digital artist. Lineadeluz’s works have been exhibited at Feministy: Pandemic Specters, The Feminist Art Museum, the 3D Biennial, among others. They have appeared in digital magazines such as Seiren Quarterly 2.0, The Feminist Library UK and Art as Activism. They are a teaching artist and a consultant for various creative projects.
Originally from Compton, California, born to Mexican immigrants from Guanajuato and Jalisco, Lineadeluz studied a double major in Sociology and Art Practice at the University of California, Berkeley. Since 2014, they live and create from Mexico City.
