PSALM 46:10
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.
Like many survivors of childhood sexual abuse, I am more inclined to bury my pain than I am to embrace it. This piece was inspired by a centering mantra, based on Psalm 46:10, that has been especially helpful to me in getting in touch with my true self — the self that was created whole, the self that was wounded, the self that is being loved back into wholeness by the One in whose image I was created. It is in this “Secret Place, Sacred Space” deep within that I have discovered healing and hope.
