The impetus for this body of work came from a gift of shell casings. Last year I took a bunch of 2nd grade cub scouts for a police station tour when I spied a grand bucket of shell casings having been spent in the firing range. Trying to conceal my glee at such a discovery, I asked if I could have them to pursue some artistic endeavor. They delivered them to my house.
