ARTIST STATEMENT
Under the Covers is a sculptural piece depicting the inner mappings of the clitoris and penis and shows their similarities. I recently watched a documentary series on HBO called The Principles of Pleasure. I was amazed to find out that the clitoris has rarely been studied or understood. Shockingly, the clitoris was not fully mapped by science till 2005. I was fascinated by the image of the mapping, it was beautiful and inspired the piece I have created for this show.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kristy Brucale Jach is an artist living and working in Boonton, New Jersey. She is co-owner of Speakeasy Art Gallery and founder of Boonton Arts Organization. Her art is broad in discipline including sculptures, murals, illustrations, custom toys, portraits and restorations. Along with her art practice, Kristy teaches art classes and provides opportunities for artists helping to share their work and make a difference in the community through the power of art.
