ARTIST STATEMENT
The pieces I’ve submitted are ones I’ve never shared with most people. They are creatures of my imagination that have been translated to paper. These works are the ones I feel are close to what I was picturing in my mind and therefore are an accomplishment, because how often does that happen as artists? The first two were mainly done to practice things like snake scales, rock texture, how to draw a snail shell or how to add fur that had a pattern to it. The piece with the melting figure is how I felt after a day in the life of a massage therapist at the beginning of my career. Limbs hurting, felt like mush but mostly my brain and emotions were the hardest part to deal with. I love my job but some days feel like this in my soul. Lol
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am located in the Green Bay WI area where I’ve lived for about 12 years after moving here from a small town up north. I’ve been doodling, drawing, painting, making little things from clay, and just about anything that has to do with taking one thing and making it into another for as long as I can remember. I haven’t done much with my artwork but I’ve become pregnant and for some reason it’s kicked me into gear. My first show was at Sage of Green Bay this year and I submitted a photo I took in Nashville. It was well received and gave me the confidence to get more involved with that group of amazing artists and get my work out there!
