Going through my grandmother’s things after her death, I found her wedding dress in a ball at the bottom of her hope chest. How could something of such supposed importance end up discarded with undershirts and broken jewelry? I asked my mother to see her wedding dress. She found it yellowing among a pile of boxes lining the garage.
