• Old is not a pejorative. Maybe young should be. Maybe it should be embarrassing to be young.
• A woman never tells her age-” Why? We’re happy to tell our ages when we’re 12 or 21. But when we’re 51 or 71, this is a bad thing? Why does it matter?
• What’s so bad about looking old? Maybe women in their 30s should be running up and down the cosmetic aisles looking for wrinkle creams and hair dyes to make themselves look like US! Or, better yet, maybe we should all spend more time looking at this amazing world than looking in our mirrors.
• I’m looking forward to when “You don’t look a day over 40” is an insult, not a compliment.
A quiz for us old women:
When you were 30 or 40 were you smarter more knowledgeable more health conscious than you are now?
Did you have:
better judgment
sounder principles and moral values
greater experience
a better understanding of people and life than you do now?
Aren’t you glad you’re not 30 any more? – Age 65
