ARTIST STATEMENT
My work explores new perspectives on frequently overlooked subjects. By bringing these subjects to life with careful attention to detail and engaging colors, I hope to draw in and engage the viewer. For my digital artwork, I begin by sketching on my Wacom display before digitally painting the different layers as I would on canvas. I do not use any AI and my work is completely drawn and painted by hand digitally. Once created these works are printed on demand on archival canvas and fine art papers to establish their physical form. Being vegan and an environmentalist has influenced the way I see the world and think about my place and impact in it. Specifically, I feel called to portray subjects considered ubiquitous in urban environments such as pigeons and rats. Depicting these creatures as unique individuals, I hope to encourage the viewer to see them in a new way and consider our relationship with those that we live alongside in our communities.
