ARTIST STATEMENT
Juno Rosenhaus (b. 1962, United States) is a photo-artist working in portraiture and collage to explore themes of self-perception, feminist identities, family dynamics, and queer communities as informed by her experiences as a Dyke-identified social justic activist. An East Coast Dyke of West Coast experience, Juno is based on Lenape Nation land, colonially known as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
Juno’s work has been exhibited in Oakland, Asheville, Philadelphia, Portland, and New York. In 2024 Juno had her first solo exhibit in San Francisco of her series ” Won’t Be Pretty For You: Vulvas Queered”, a collaborative community project.
In 2020, Juno launched the Dyke+ ArtHaus, the physical manifestation of her art practice, centering Dyke-identified artists over 40. The D+AH hosts residencies exhibits, and community events. A curator of Dyke Artists’ work, Juno most recently co-curated, with Lola Flash, a 60-person group show in New York City featuring Dyke-identified artists over 40 years of age.
