Flying
book art, mixed media

This has been an ongoing project. I attempt in each picture to capture the ill feeling, and the unfamiliarity of my facial reactions that overwhelm me every time a plane take off, lands, or hits an air pocket. The photographs are taken using an interval timer device so that I am unaware and unprepared for the photograph. By taking photographs in this covert manner, I hope to capture the morphing image of the muscles shifting in my face. The book presentation represents the size of a passenger ticket and the flimsy nature of the individual ticket pages. The layout of the photographs represents the three seats in an aircraft.
