Traditionally, one of woman’s roles was to sew clothes for herself, thereby creating an identity. Ironically, while clothing remains a standard expression of individuality, woman’s liberation from the traditional demands of domesticity has left her stranded in the GAP between her own constraints and those of the fashion industry, trading self-expression for manufactured identity. IRREGULAR, indeed.
