It is the simple, practical and at times vigorous act of walking down a city street or forest preserve path that I am taken to the edges of my environment in an effort to connect the cycles of the natural world to the rhythm of a structured space. On these walks I mentally record the various shapes and lines as they present themselves.

My works explores relationships that become accessible through the interaction of line and shape, both intentional and accidental. Through the process of altering shape and the variation of line I hope to give weight and vitality to each mark in an effort to create an energetic community of interacting forms.
