My artwork takes a critical view of social, political and cultural issues. Often referencing symbols of American history, my work explores the varying relationships between popular culture and fine art. Having engaged subjects as diverse relationships with self and others. The taboos of what it takes to be a women in society. The icons and relics resided are symbols of culture still living taboos. I have found the histories of surrealism and outsider art to be useful in the rearranging of received ideas.
