I’m inspired by the contours, shapes and colors of the landscape. While participating as an Artist in Residence in Wyoming, I was captivated by the subtle change of color and textures of the hayfields. I felt challenged to capture those qualities in my dye studio.
While exploring the colors of the land, I also investigate man’s impact on our natural world. We impose organization onto the landscape in measurable sections fences, roads, walls and a range of grids. These grids cannot totally erase the topographical lines the earth made. I love the mixture of man’s lines and earth’s lines.
