linoleum cut relief print, oil based ink on kitakata paper
12 x 18 in.
The physicality of carving into linoleum creates expressive marks that mimic a coming together of the people. There is a bubbling up, an excitement as morally-minded individuals engage in grassroots movements for the common good. I abstract elements of landscape, air, water, grasses, and map-making in my linoleum cut prints expressive mark-making as symbols of this coming together, capturing the essence of cooperation toward progress.
