As a foreigner in the US, I have had to struggle with feelings of solitude and displacement in a foreign country. However, the longer I stay in a foreign country, I feel not only displacement but also alienation from my surroundings, friends, and belongings— what I left in my country. I try to unravel this alienation and displacement playfully and poetically with a twist through an interactive medium, game. Making games feels like building my world with rules and stories. And having people navigate and interact within my games is a way of being understood by others.
