House Is Not A Home, a conceptual narrative moving image, examines the reality that four walls do not always make a safe space for girls and women, but can be a disquieting space for a girl or woman. Integral to the concept “home” is that it is safe, caring, and free-of-fear. The work juxtaposes fragments of recited poetry, sound composition, and imagery arranged in a manner that evokes unsettling circular/whirling movement of a cyclone/hurricane. Through a wide range of contrasting visual effects, audio, motifs and body-movements, the submitted clips attempt to capture the disquieting difference.
