Heather Gallegos-Rex

My near minimalist work explores color, form, and principally light. Inspiration comes from the geometry and rhythms of the natural world, from architectural references, and from other artists, especially 20th century abstract expressionists. In addition to highly colored pieces, I work with black and white, plus monochromatic tones in repetitive patterns. I revel in and feel awed by the constructive, additive process of weaving a concept into a contemporary tapestry.
