ARTIST STATEMENT
As a queer woman my interest in female friendships and the fine line between sensuality, sexuality, and romance has been a recurring theme in the portraits I take of the women in my life. In this image of Cami and Vriddhi there is an equality to the power dynamic between them, a balance to the push and pull, yet a softness and almost kindness in their nonchalant and relaxed state of being. This image is one in an ongoing series in which I explore the female gaze through images of women, by women, for women.
