“Although we may not be able to share spaces, or provide face-to-face support for the forseeable future, we don’t have to feel alone. Instead, we can try to remember that a community goes beyond a physical group of people.
The company of others can be shown through simple acts of giving back, and helping to respect shared spaces. A helpful stranger can be defined by a jogger that keeps their distance while you mow your lawn. A caring friend may call you between shifts to check in.
Most importantly, a flourishing community during these times of hardship can be represented by a simple row of houses- vessels for neighbors who each do their part in helping one another to persevere, even 6 feet away.”
