Description

ARTIST STATEMENT

The natural world is a springboard for my work. Mine is a reverence for the landscape and the seasons, trees, flowers, birds.

Painting and sculpting in the encaustic medium allows me immediacy, happenstance, and fluidity. It has a warm aroma, a lush, sensuous touch, and an unrivaled luster.

I am driven to make art that is elemental and evocative. I envision each work as a medley, a melded place, where the gritty and sublime combine.
