Wedded Bliss
linocut on paper, ecoline ink, quilted on cotton, sheer, steel, screws
28 x 28 in.
I explore themes of oppression and marginalization of women, while focusing on emotional healing and empowering of women. My works tell a story of survival through a technique that combines printmaking, digital collage, and quilting.

I make references to quilting to signify domesticity, intimacy and nurturing. I want to bridge fine arts and a tradition of women’s crafts to communicate about women’s experiences.

I print my images on a large piece of paper or fabric and stitch together with several layers of different fabrics. The works are a compound of printed images and stitchery.
