The “Red Sky” series, a body of work I produced in 2001, focuses on the fine line between life and death, found at birth and during life – that imposed upon us and/or self-imposed.

The intense red was important as a field of multi-level meaning – anger, passion, love, blood, the “heat” of healing, and in several cases a harbinger of danger.

The psychological states resulting from extremis can be viewed as either “normal” or “abnormal” – and the ostensibly “abnormal” is most likely quite a reasonable reaction to severe mental and emotional pressure.
