Thread and paper are my preferred materials. Hand-stitching is a labor-intensive and meditative means of giving form to the dialogue that occurs between the materials, my imagination, and my thoughts.
“Wiggle” refers to the posturing of oil companies to avoid their responsibility to protect the natural environment and the communities surrounding their pipelines and wells. Works in this series are small, intimate, devotional paintings that serve to remind us to actively work toward our deliverance from our dependency on fossil fuels.
