Dianna Huxhold

The concept of an icon is both intriguing and mysterious to me. Being raised Catholic; it conjures up specific images of stylized characters that reflect the symbolic interpretations of the great spiritual qualities of the saints. Such qualities would include those of sacrifice, humility, devotion, faith, compassion and love. This foundation, combined with the mysteries of my intuitive symbolic language, provides fertile ground from which all of my artwork takes form. I perceive each piece as a vision of the spiritual world, seeking to reveal the divine through visible and familiar content as I am meant to experience it. And, perhaps the content is only meaningful to me. Nonetheless, I cannot deny the beauty of the working process. To this day, it is the closest I can come to the meeting place between Heaven and Earth.
