As a single parent of two boys, I never identified the word “home” with a building, but rather as a safe place filled with love.
Because I suffer from anxiety, that is even more true today. I look at my, our home, as a sanctuary against the unknown or a light in the darkness. With the uncertainty of the time, I tend to gravitate towards the safety of that sanctuary. The unknown, to me, can appear larger and more menacing because of the anxiety and this can turn the very home I love into a cage.
