Red Hot Chilies
Watercolor
24 x 18 in.

The goal of my art work is to improve visual reality. I make the colors–the shapes bolder, brighter, more exciting than the image in front of my eyes. The composition is made more inviting than what lies within the viewfinder. I choose to work in watercolors because they have a life of their own. The pigments move in unexpected directions on the paper. They call upon the artist to constantly react and interact with the changes evolving on the page. I want to evoke a mood, a feeling in the observer. I want the viewer to feel as alive as I do when I paint.
