Holding Together Memory: Reconstructed Snapshots 2003
glass, paint, and woven material
14 x 11 in.

This series examines relationships, memory, and the past through the combined use of family photographs and woven material. Each source photograph has been reduced to a silhouette. By removing everything that makes that relationship unique the relationship becomes universal and easier to identify with. The figures are replaced with a woven background made out of clothing. This woven material illustrates the relationship through its structure, pattern and color.
