Writers are often told to ‘write what they know,’ and I believe this applies to visual artists as well; a passion for the subject will be evident in the meaningful photograph. As a mother and a member of a small but close family, relationships and human interaction fascinate me, whether they are within a family, among strangers or between the photographer and her subject. These photographs of my children reveal their individuality, their innocence and their trust in me as their mother. It is my intent to create, authentic, truthful work that resonates with the viewer.
