Serenity Woods (2018)
collagraph
4 x 4 in.

On a constant quest for balance as an artist, marketing professional and Mom, I carve out creative time – sometimes literally. My artistic passions include printmaking, mixed media assemblage, and wearable art jewelry.

My work is a myriad of layers, starting with drawing, paper or wood, collage bits, and paint.

There is a meditative quality in carving a block of wood or building up layers of collage, paint, metal, and ephemera – waiting, reflecting, then working some more – allowing for luminosity and serendipity essential to my process. My current work is primarily figurative, oftentimes surreal and incorporating nature. Every layer and inclusion is a personal reflection of optimism in the midst of trials – universal stories of inclusion, isolation, adaptability, and perseverance.

My traditional art background originates from the American Academy of Art (1992) and I most recently graduated from Elmhurst College with a degree in Communications and a minor in Fine Art.
