ABOUT THE ARTIST
Cathryn Amidei is a Michigan-based artist and educator. Her work expands the tradition of hand weaving as an expressive art form by blurring the boundaries of classical craft with cutting edge technology.
Her work is derived from drawings and photographs and is executed by hand. She has an MFA from Eastern Michigan University. She has travelled extensively teaching digital weaving. Cathryns’ work is in private collections and has been featured in Visionary Arts Collective, Fiber Arts Network, and is in private collections nationwide.
