Bobbi Meier

Integrating disciplines of photography and sculpture, I manipulate materials and point of view. Using the camera to control areas of focus within my sculptural objects, my photographs are ambiguous and open to interpretation. Overt sensuality and references to intimate parts of the body are pure invention, as the source material is inanimate and not human. Experimentation with sculptural materials as a means to involve my hand in the work and create meaning is an important aspect of my process. Photographic and sculptural processes are intertwined to the point where one cannot exist without the other.
