Home is a very important space for me. As a person with a rare disease who was bed-bound for almost 12 years and isolated on and off for 18 before a proper diagnosis I know what it is like for home to be a sanctuary. Only diagnosed 2 years ago, and the proper treatment in the last year has given me the opportunity to venture away from home and feel somewhat safe, even if vulnerable. Overall with the changing times, I understand the need for home (whatever that is for you) and how it feels to be isolated. I also feel there is a home inside of us – it does not have to be a place outside of our human being.
