ARTIST STATEMENT
“Body of Work” is a celebration of hyper-femininity and a critique of consumerism.
The artifice of femininity can often conjure a feeling of liberation simply because it flies in the face of patriarchal society’s definition of femmes.
However, this can easily turn into justifying mass consumption of unethically produced products in the name of being hot and playing the “game.”
It poses the questions: is access to bimbo-feminism equitable in terms of its level of participation across all social classes? Who does bimbo-feminism truly serve? Can bimbofication truly liberate us?
My work often explores the overlaps between femininity and the grotesque.
