ARTIST STATEMENT
My art-piece, ‘If We Were Two Trees This Is What We’d Look Like’ was inspired by my best girlfriend.
I am in a bright and happy place knowing I have a great girlfriend to speak with just about everyday, long-distance, by phone. Through thick n’ thin and many decades and differences, we’ve maintained a wonderful relationship. We make each other laugh. The words on the print are what this means to me. The photo/drawing is the feeling I get knowing I have such a true friend.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am Ann C. Quinn, a lifetime Chicago resident. Everyday, I’m compelled to create art. I studied at Northeastern University where Mary Stoppert was a favorite instructor and inspiration. I also studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. My work has been chosen and shown locally and throughout the States. I have permanent work displayed in Trinidad and Tobago. I’ve created my own style of weavings as an avid off-loom sculptural weaver. As a long time supporter of Woman Made Gallery, I’ve been fortunate to have my work selected for many of their shows.
