Textiles provide an intriguing lens for looking at the world – they alternately conceal and reveal, cover and uncover, veil or disguise. What is visible? What is invisible? My recent work has focused on exploring that margin. I’m interested in examining metaphors, and particularly the relationship between text and textiles. I look to create structures, which capture the intangibles of a phrase or an image, physical manifestations which embody or objectify abstractions.
