ARTIST STATEMENT
The artwork I create stems from my passion for exchanging stories and connecting with others through art. Each painting and sculpture begins with a process that embraces playful experimentation, allowing for intuitive layers to unfold, and giving the work a feeling of movement and sense of history.
The art making process is a fluid and dynamic experience for me. Sometimes it’s calm and nurturing, while at other times, it’s wild and playful. The work evolves as I add and scrape away layers, revealing the interplay between the real and imagined, unexpected and systematic. This approach allows me to find forms and shapes that I can react to and delve into, rather than trying to define the work from its inception. The results of this complex process are often bold, inventive, lyrical, and harmonious.
Whether abstract or representational, my aim is to create dynamic paintings and sculptures that balance movement, tactile textures, and uplifting colors, while inviting the viewer to explore the optimistic stories embedded within. Each piece creates space for personal narratives, transcending boundaries and encouraging a deeper appreciation of our shared human experience.
