My work is a threaded dialogue between vanishing tactile processes and emerging technological means. Victorian pastimes of souvenir collecting and ornamental tinkering are layered with patterned scenes of domestic life gone awry. Catalogued recollections and the labor-intensive processes of stitching, beading, and scientific diagraming serve to highlight maladies associated with nostalgic longing and our present inability to return to a homeland or native land that feels familiar, true to memory, and decoratively intact.
