ARTIST STATEMENT
“My concerns have focused on our strained environment and the nurturing it needs. Without the primordial female instinct to care for our planet, we will, in a word, be lost. These works include large encaustic pieces glorifying glaciers that literally hold our future in their existence. Other series include images of the deepest parts of our ocean and its endangered inhabitants, The Marianna Trench Series and encaustic monoprints and paintings of jellyfish.
My current project “sticks and stones” is a reminiscence of a time when Sticks and stones were our fear as children, not bullets in the classroom or the grocery store. This project is also a video in combination with a painting project.
By combining video, painting, music, choreography and/or poetry I am simply expressing how life is so beautiful and complex it takes many dimensions to fully express it.”
