My Grandmother was born in the 30’s in communist Russia. She came of age post WWII. Her experience is what I think about so often when I think about our rights in regards to birth control. Everyone was equally poor and there were no resources for a large family. She had two healthy daughters, my mother and aunt, and was particularly prone to pregnancy. Abortion was her only method of birth control. It was a common and legal procedure.
