ARTIST STATEMENT
This recent summer I experienced what is only describable as pure joy. Transitioning has created space for all those around me to become together. This immense magnitude of love and desire others have for me, and for me to fulfill myself have widened my sense of self to become the many things that surround me and interact with me. To spend time with others is an actuation of gender, but also too is feeling mud between my toes and the bite of late night bugs on my legs. This work is to celebrate transitioning together, not as an individual but as a relationship. This work is an exclamation of pure trans joy of us transitioning, about us becoming, about being more than the limits of my skin can define. “I currently live and work in Bloomington, Indiana, making art and earning my MFA in digital art through Indiana University. I completed a BFA in photography from the University of Utah. I use they/them pronouns and am transfem nonbinary.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I tend to work in the digital space, using 3D programs like Blender, and a wide variety of 2D image and video editing programs and processes. The work I make tends to span several genres in the digital space, from video, collage, glitch and photography. The content is mostly videos, renders, and photographs I make myself, but I love to work with found imagery as well. The form follows impressions, feelings, and affects and becomes all of those things at once.
