“In 2016 my family and I mourned the unexpected death of my grandmother. Passing only a few days after experiencing a stroke, we said goodbye to the kindest woman any of us had ever known. My mother and her siblings were with her and my grandfather in the hospital from the moment she was admitted to the moment she passed. Processing her passing was extremely hard for me, but it was even harder for my mom as she lost her best friend. I decided to recreate one of the last moments the two of them shared together to help us both mourn, but also help us to remember my grandmother forever.”
