In order to reflect the frequent evolution and transformation of code and language, the space will function differently across both levels of the gallery. WMG is excited to present “code/mix,” the first feature of our bottom level rotating series and a parallel exhibition to “code/switch.” Code-mixing, often used interchangeably with code-switching in studies of linguistics, refers to the mixing of two or more language varieties in speech. “code/mix,” will feature an intimate selection of emerging artists expanding on the conversation of self-expression and representation through language and new-media.
