Dear Earth,

I’ve taken your health and my own health for granted, and now we both suffer the outcomes of uncountable thoughtless, careless acts. I have invited several hundred people–men, women and children—to join me in an expression of our distress by clenching our fists around soft clay. Transformed by iron oxide and kiln fire, each shape portrays the inner space of a person’s fist. These forms represent our collective resolve to do what we can to enable our planet and our bodies to heal and restore health.
