I am interested in provoking a reconsideration of the traditional domestic roles prescribed to women. As Jim Dine paid tribute to the traditional male realms of the garage and the shop with his drawings of tools, I employ cookie cutters metaphorically to pay tribute to the traditional female realms of the kitchen and home. The combination of imposing size, archival paper, and traditional medium serves to elevate the status of these ordinary objects, and by extension, the status of women.
