The mezzotint is a documentation of the artist’s touch. It is a catalogue of the layers of rocking and scraping of the information on the two-dimensional surface, reminiscent of Cezanne. Coupling this touch with the image of an X-ray, the dissection of a foreign beauty standard, reveals self mutilation in the name of beauty, a different standard of elegance.
