After Service at the M60 Stop
gelatin silver print
20 x 16 in.
This Photo taken on the streets on Harlem on July weekend afternoon, captures two women apparently headed home after a Sunday morning church service. They are engaged in deep conversation while awaiting the M60 (the city bus). Their attire signals the fact that they are of an era when being properly dressed (including hats) for “service” is a sign of utmost respect. – Age: 53
